Biography Of Martin Holmes
Who Is Martin Holmes? Why Do You Need To Hire Martin Holmes? I am a Professional Builder of Over 36 years Experience. Ever since I can remember, I have always loved to Construct, Build, Remodel, & Fix Everything.
I was Born in 1959, in London Ontario, I am descent of Immigrant Parents from Canada, One of four children. My father had been a builder with his brothers in Canada before marrying my Mother. When they Immigrated to America. My Father traveled for work to support his Family. My Father Interviewed & Earned a Job with Farm & Fleet in Missouri where he started his career in The Farming & Hardware Industry.
Along the Way I always was the son that helped in Repairing and Remodeling our homes at my Father's side while growing up. At the age of eight, I was using Power Tools. After moving from Iowa, to Wisconsin, to Minnesota, & Finally Chicago. My Father & I had done a lot of weekend Remodeling as well as knowing the in's & out's of the Hardware Business. My Father left Farm & Fleet in 1969 and was Personally recruited by John Cotter President of Cotter & Company The Founder of True Value Hardware. My father was a Department Buyer of Farm Supplies and Heavy Hardware a New division of True Value Known as "V&S True Value Stores" in the Farming and Midwest States. Were finished out his working years and retired from Cotter & Company 17 Years later.
I am proud to have had a Father that Taught the Real Value about "Work Ethics" and "Commitment to Customers" A as Kid Growing up around Hardware stores I was always Drawn Back To Building, I remember there was a local builder by the name of Rev Ross building in our neighborhood. I use to hang out at his construction sites, he would hire me to sweep and pick up the job site. I was only in Grade School but enjoyed the work and being around construction. Later after graduating from High school, I attended college for one year before I decided not to continue, And enter the workforce in the Building Trades as a Framer. It was hard starting out but learned very fast and advanced to Foremen quickly. I changed trades & companies and learned most every trade during the years before starting my own company M H H Construction Inc.Re modeler and Builder of Grayslake, Illinois in 1989 . My work was located along the North Shores of Chicago, I worked with a well known Architect " Mark Golan" of Highland Park, IL his drawings and designs advanced my company from nothing to a well rounded and Known Builder Highlighted in "North Shore Magazine" For the remodel of the first home ever built in Winnetka, IL It was a Multi Winged Addition from the existing 900 foot Farmhouse 635 E. Willow Road, By Adding 3000 Square Foot of Additions. For Thomas Lys & his Wife a Professor at Kellogg College at Northwestern University of Illinois.
In 1994 I relocated to Phoenix, AZ from Illinois, Where I went to work for JTM Development Co Of Scottsdale, Construction practice does differ from Illinois, Arizona Construction is fast pasted and cheaper than The Midwest. But Construction requirements are more stringent in Arizona. After JTM Development Company I went to work with Pratt Development Company, where I was a Framing Superintendent, After Pratt I went to work for T's Construction Company of Carefree, After T's I went into Commercial construction with Moline Construction Inc. Of Phoenix, AZ, During my employment with Moline Construction I Managed the new facility of Vermeer Equipment of Tempe, AZ, America China's New Warehouse and Plant In Tempe, AZ, Arizona Golf Resort New Rooms Additions & Facilities Support Addition. On the Green at Troon North, Scottsdale AZ, and assisted in the Infra structure Of Estancia Country Club, North Scottsdale, AZ
While working for A Local Construction Company in Carefree, AZ Earlier I fell in love with the North valley and the Carefree Area and always wanted to build there. So After Leaving Moline Construction, I started My first Arizona Construction Company called, High Chaparral Construction Inc. In 1997, of Carefree, AZ. We Had built 28 Custom Homes before the economic down turn of the Home Building in Arizona which caught up to us in 2008. During the previous year I started a Commercial & Residential Remodeling Company called "Holmes Construction Inc".
Holmes Construction has had a few Projects in Remodeling Commercial and Residential Remodels over the past three years and is striving to be the best! As a Professional Accomplished Builder I promise to all of my Clients the Best Service and Attention to Detail & Convey My Professional Ideas Available to them, We like to Over Build and we Build it Right the First Time every Time!
